The goal for this project was to update the main areas of our client’s main floor. The project included the dining room, great room, kitchen and powder room. It involved some minor renovations and decorating throughout. It’s amazing what decorating can do to really update the look and feel of a space. Here’s what we accomplished:
- The kitchen was in great shape and worked well with the overall look and feel so we chose to update the hardware, lighting and faucet only.
- The great room is connected with the kitchen for an open concept feel. The biggest change for this area overall was the new built in units and the fireplace. We removed the original unit and added a linear contemporary fireplace with stone to the ceiling. The fireplace was anchored between new built cabinetry and lighting. We also updated the furnishings in this space, selecting more modern options that create a comfortable, updated feel.
- In the dining room, we brought the white oak in through the table, chose a moody darker colour for the walls and used a patterned wallpaper on the ceiling to add extra interest.
- For the powder room, our clients requested a ‘hotel feel’ and we accomplished this with white oak wood paneling, an updated vanity and stylish asymmetrical lighting.
